The Upper Waveney Valley forms the border between Norfolk and Suffolk and is one of the finest landscapes in East Anglia. The traditional landscape of cattle-grazed pastures separated by water-filled dykes and ancient willow pollards is still largely intact. The Partnership was set up in 1987 to protect this special landscape and the wildlife habitats in the Valley. Forty-three parishes are included in the Partnership area which stretches from the source of the Waveney on Redgrave and Lopham Fens National Nature Reserve to the historic market town of Bungay.
We run regular guided walks in the Valley and children's activities with Thornham Walks: details are on the Events page. In addition regular volunteer activities are organised, undertaking a wide range of tasks from tree planting to pond construction.
